Designing with the Nios II Processor and SOPC Builder (S-HT SOPC NIOSII) |
|
Course Description
This online course will teach you how to design-in a soft core embedded processor with an Altera FPGA. This course is focused on the hands-on development of Nios® II hardware and software using the Nios II Development Kit. You will learn how to integrate a Nios II 32-bit microprocessor and test it in an Altera FPGA. You will configure and compile designs using the Quartus® II software v. 8.1 and SOPC Builder tool and run embedded software code for the Nios II processor in the Nios II IDE. You will also explore the features and capabilities of your development board. After taking this course you should feel confident tackling your next SOPC design.
At Course Completion
You will be able to:
- Configure & compile a Nios II processor design using SOPC Builder & Quartus II tools
- Create software projects for the Nios II processor using the Nios II IDE
- Compile, run, & debug embedded software
- Verify your design with the Quartus II software, ModelSim-Altera, & the Nios II IDE
- Incorporate custom peripherals & instructions into an embedded system
- Learn how to access peripherals from C using the Nios II HAL API functions
- Design with the Nios II development kit
